Rain is falling and it's time to start getting ready for winter. In late December 1964, the clouds opened up and for two days deluged the North Coast with torrential rains.  The ensuing flood swept towns away, collapsed bridges and disintegrated roads.  Humboldt County was isolated for weeks; an aircraft carrier had to be dispatched to the North Coast to fly in food and relief supplies.  It took months for all the roads to open again.

Ferndale Bocce Courts have taken a step closer to reality with the ground breaking for the first of three lanes on  August 16, 2007.
